Our project is to examine the relationship between Geography and Poverty in Africa. Some work has been done in this area and we cited a paper by Bloom and Sachs titled Geography Demography and Economic Growth in Africa. Our intention is to rebuild the Sachs and Bloom model and test its robustness by bringing it from the period of 1960-1990 up to 2005. Having done this our intention is to examine the parameters of the model and so separate out and seek to measure other coefficients impacting poverty.
